AG Vs VT 4v4 Core Scrim

Well here it is folks my first write up.

Last night we played VT in a 4v4 scrim, a little info on the 4v4 its a best of 3 and features Domination, Demolition and Capture the flag. There is no rapid fire, extended mags, undermounted attachments, equipment, flack jacket, warlord, second chance and no concussion, nova or decoy grenades.

The people Playing in the match were
Esskimo(Captain)
X sphiralis X (Me)
AG Hercules
adr L diablo( not part of the clan so big thanks to stepping up to make up the numbers)

First up we played Demolition on Sub base.

For this match we had diablo and Hercules rushing there spawn to slow them down and try and spawn trap while me and esskimo each watched a bomb site making sure noone got through and got a plant. The match was reasonably uneventful with them managing to get a single plant at a which was defused quickly, and us taking both bomb sites on our attack in a timely manner. As such not really too much to say we played well had good  communication and the tactics esskimo set out worked well.

Next was Domination on firing range.

The 4v4 league features a slight twist on regular domination rules, it now has a time limit of ten minutes and is played twice with each team getting a spawn once to make things fairer.

The first round we had top spawn which meant we rushed c flag to cap it before they got a grenade over. Now in public games it would be normal to rush b but since this is a clan match you try and make sure that you get at least 3 of the enemy team down before taking the flag so that you stand a better chance of capping it. The first round was pretty close with us coming out on top by about ten points. Our main problem was the me and Hercules are not used to 4v4 matches so we had trouble getting Set up whenever we had 2 or 3 flags and thus struggled slightly.

The second round however went much better with us coming out over 80 points ahead of them, we got setup well at the start of the match and managed to hold 3 flags for a reasonable amount of time, our communication was good and after the first round me and Hercules understood what needed to be done better and were able to get setup and keep them off the flags a lot easier.

Last was Capture the Flag Havana.

Since we won the first 2 games the match went to us but we decided to play the CTF to get some practice in for it. The capture the flag match was won by us with the first round being a 0-0 draw and the second round being won 3-0 to use thanks to Diablo capping 3 flaags. I did particularly bad this match as I was set to run objective which is not good for me as im more of a slayer type player, especially on anything with a respawn delay. We still had good communication and managed to stop them taking a single flag throughout the match so i think we did quite well.

Overall it was a good match and I think we did well considering the me and Hercules are not used to 4v4 play (thanks to esskimo on this note for running us through what to do and callouts for some of the maps)

The main things that we need to improve on is working more as a team as at the moment we dont play 4v4 together often and so dont know what other people are likely to do at certain situations. We would also need to work more on our callouts so that everyone knows them and uses the same ones as different people tend to use different callouts for different buildings.

Well this has been my first writeup so let me know what you think.

  3. Yeah man i do, the 4v4 is a bit different to team tactical as it uses a more competitive ruleset, its like a mix of decerto, mlg and gb rules all at once
